Is this taking cleaning out the kennels to extremes?
Having to cancel the dog show because of the predicted bad weather was one thing but battling with the results of the extreme weather was something else,the staff and volunteers had to really battle with the elements today.
They have spent the day making sure the animals are dry, fed and safe as well as fighting the flooding. You can imagine how exhausted all the staff and volunteers are, not to mention wet!!
Then when the rain stops and the flood water eventually subsides there is the inevitable clean-up and drying out to be done before the kennels can be used again. Everyone at NCAR has worked very very hard today in exceptionally difficult circumstances, it just shows the dedication of the staff and volunteers at NCAR.
The decision to cancel the Dog Show was obviously the right one but not in our wildest dreams did we think it would be this wet!!!
